Makana Lanikai Pfendler was born and raised on the rugged, breath-taking shores of Kauai where the power and beauty of nature shaped his artistic vision from an early age. Growing up on the North Shore he spent his days diving, surfing, and spear-fishing- developing a deep connection to the ocean that continues to inspire much of his work. 

An avid deep-sea fisherman, Makana draws on his firsthand experiences with marine life to create vivid, dynamic paintings that reflect his passion for the sea. Working in both acrylic and Digital mediums, he brings the underwater world to life with energy and reverence.

Beyond the ocean, Makana is also fascinated by sacred geometry and ancient civilizations, interests that inform another dimension of his art. His pieces often explore the intersection of natural beauty, mysticism, and timeless knowledge, creating a body of work that is both personal and universal.
